Pizza Hut franchise forced to close when employee uses sink as urinal

Here’s a great example of why you need cameras in the front AND back of your business. Check out this video from the CBS affiliate for Charleston-Huntington, West Virginia, of a Pizza Hut employee using the Kermit, West Virginia, store’s kitchen sink as his own (semi) private urinal.

Turns out the guy is actually a district manager, and he was promptly fired for his inability to make it to the house bathroom. The Pizza Hut was temporarily closed by the local board of health.

Pizza Hut made the following written statement in response:

“First of all, we are embarrassed by the actions of this individual. Pizza Hut has zero tolerance for violations of our operating standards, and the local owner of the restaurant took immediate action and terminated the employee involved. While the isolated incident occurred during non-business hours and did not involve any food tampering, we follow strict safety and handling procedures and the restaurant has since been closed. We apologize to our customers of Kermit, West Virginia and those in our system who have been let down by this situation.”
