ELGIN, Ill. Nov. 1, 2013 – Partha Biswas has been named Group President of Middleby India. In this role, Mr. Biswas will be responsible for the business operations of Middleby in India. The announcement was made by The Middleby Corporation Chairman and CEO Selim A. Bassoul.
“Partha’s expertise in India has been an asset to Middleby and invaluable in this emerging, fast-growing market,” said Bassoul. “India will continue to play an important role in the long term growth of all Middleby platforms. Partha will focus on continuing to expand our business capabilities and brand presence in the market.”
The responsibilities of Mr. Biswas will encompass overseeing multiple operations in India including the sales and service of all Middleby brands in India, including the recent acquisition of Celfrost, a new product line for Middleby and leading brand in India. He will also manage the recently established shared service engineering team based in India supporting commercial, food processing and residential operations worldwide. Other responsibilities will include managing the recently established production facilities in India, which are currently supporting Middleby food processing operations globally.
Dave Brewer will replace Mr. Biswas as Group President of the Star brands on an interim basis. Mr. Brewer will continue to be lead the Middleby National Accounts Team along with his new responsibilities.
Since joining Middleby in April 2011, Mr. Biswas has held various management positions within Middleby. Most recently he was the group president of the Star Group, and previously was President of Carter-Hoffmann, Nu-Vu, Doyon and CookTek. Prior to joining Middleby, he held various senior leadership positions at ICI-AkzoNobel, BOC Gases, Sunrise Medical and Joerns Healthcare. He received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Colorado State University.
