I’ve got some exciting news to share regarding next year’s International Pizza Expo®, March 2–4, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. I’m pleased to announce that we’ve lined up two of the pizza industry’s most infl uential and recognizable personalities to jump-start your day and provide you with motivation and insight. This year our featured keynote speakers will be: Dave Brandon, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Domino’s Pizza, the world’s largest pizza delivery chain; and Tony Gemignani, owner of Pyzano’s Pizzeria in Castro Valley and Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, California.
Early in 1999, Tom Monaghan ended his 38-year reign as the leader of Domino’s Pizza, selling the company he founded to Boston-based Bain Capital. The new owner appointed Dave Brandon to lead the company into the next millennium, placing the former advertising and promotions executive atop the Domino’s leadership team. In 1991, when Tony Gemignani was eighteen, his brother Frank asked him to help out with his pizzeria, Pyzano’s, and the rest is history. Tony entered his fi rst pizza throwing competition at the 1995 International Pizza Expo and quickly became the world’s most renowned pizza tosser. With his international notoriety, Tony has toured the world tossing pizzas and has been a guest on several TV shows, such as the “Tonight Show,” “Good Morning America,” “The Early Show,” “The Today Show,” CNN and the Food Network.
