(Gilbert, Ariz.) – Flancer’s Restaurant is no stranger to giving back to the community; in fact, this is the 16th year in a row they are doing their part to spread goodwill to those who need it most. Since startup, Flancer’s has helped raise and donate nearly $300,000 in cash donations to charities.
This year, the annual fundraiser allowed the restaurant to contribute over $10,000 each to the Sunshine Acres Children’s Home, Jewish Family and Children’s Service, and WarFighter Sports.
The event featured a raffle and other donation opportunities. The raffle featured $6000 in prizes, including 2 roundtrip tickets anywhere Southwest airlines flies, $1000 in spa treatments, and $1000 cash. The highlight of the event was a pizza eating contest won by Matthew Smith, who ate 2 large cheese pizzas in 15 minutes. He was crowned by Miss Arizona and the Mayor of Gilbert.
Jeff Flancer says, “In this wonderful world where so many magical and beautiful things happen, there is also desperation and hopelessness. If we can improve the lives of people through our efforts, then good will triumph over evil.”
