Franchiser SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza Opens First Of Four Company-Owned Dallas Area Locations


First Company-Owned Restaurants Outside Its Home Market
For Award-Winning Purveyor of Fresh Artisan Food That Attracts All Ages

 

 

KANSAS CITY, MO (April 13, 2015) – Award-winning franchiser SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza has opened the first of four Dallas area locations – the fresh artisan food purveyor’s first company-owned restaurants outside its home market. Honored with numerous awards for its business concept and exceptional food that attracts all ages, SPIN!’s first Dallas area location is at 348 Campbell Road in Richardson’s Canyon Creek Plaza.

By fall, SPIN!® also plans to have locations open at 586 E. Southlake Blvd. in Southlake, 1030 W. John W. Carpenter Freeway in the Las Colinas development in Irving, and at 5625-5629 SMU Blvd. near Southern Methodist University. A percentage of sales from each SPIN! restaurant’s grand opening week will benefit an area food bank.

SPIN! Pizza has three locations under construction in its home market of Greater Kansas City, where it operates seven company-owned locations, and franchise locations under construction in the San Francisco Bay Area and Lawrence, Kansas. SPIN! has franchises in California, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Kansas.

Founded in 2005 by partners experienced in large multi-unit expansion, franchising, and operations, the decision to enter the Dallas market was part of a careful, measured expansion plan. “Until now, we’ve sought culturally compatible experienced operators who share our core values for operating restaurants and our commitment to quality of product and experience,” says one of SPIN! Pizza’s four partners, Gail Lozoff.

“We’ve chosen to open our first company-owned locations outside our home market because we believe that healthy companies have a combination of company-owned and franchise locations. We are growing very deliberately because it’s most important for us to preserve the integrity of our company and culture as we transport them to other markets.”

One of the nation’s first Neapolitan-style pizza restaurants, SPIN! is known for its hand-spun stone-fired pizza, exceptional artisan food made from fresh ingredients without the gourmet price, inviting atmosphere that attracts all ages, and commitment to a quality guest experience.

With recipes developed in collaboration with local James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Smith, who also was named national 2014 Chef Innovator of the Year, SPIN! serves a diverse selection of traditional thin-and-bubbly crust, rustic whole wheat, and gluten-free pizzas, a tremendous selection of fresh salads topped with made-from-scratch dressings, homemade soups, signature Panini and Italian deli sandwiches, appetizers, small plates, and all-natural gelato ice creams.

SPIN!’s been named one of the “Rest of the 101 Best Restaurants” in the nation by top foodie website TheDailyMeal.com, its Margherita Pizza was crowned one of the nation’s best dishes of the year by a trade magazine, and its architecture won Best of Show at the Mid America Design Awards. Ranked number one by Zagat among Kansas City area pizza restaurants, SPIN! has been awarded “best pizza” by numerous Kansas City area publications, where it also was honored for the city’s best gluten-free menu.

“At SPIN!, we go beyond simply making stone-fired Neapolitan pizza. We have taken great care to design our menu using only the freshest ingredients and just the right herbs and seasonings to give our food an unmistakable flavor and flair,” says SPIN!’s award-winning Chef Smith, who tweaked the menu to match Dallas tastes. “We’ve also localized our offerings to include Texas favorites such as fresh jalapenos and home-grown ingredients such as Stubb’s Bar-B-Q Sauce®, Village Baking Co. breads and local craft beers.”

Using fresh produce and meats, SPIN!’s pizza toppings, ingredients, homemade soups, and made-from-scratch salad dressings are prepared fresh daily.

SPIN! takes the unique step of boosting the flavors of its pizza toppings – ranging from Portobello and crimini mushrooms, caramelized onions, artichokes and capers to pecans, pineapple, pine nuts and pancetta – by roasting them in olive oil and herbs in its stone hearth ovens each day.

SPIN!’s pizza dough is made fresh every day using several types of flour and its gluten free crust is renowned for its flavor and texture. SPIN! offers both traditional Pizza Rossa (red pizzas with crushed tomato sauce) and Pizza Bianca (white pizzas with roasted garlic olive oil glaze), and many hand-grated cheeses. Dairy-free cheese also is available.

Known for a rotating roster of reasonably priced premium wines, SPIN! also makes homemade white, red and blood orange sangrias and offers a selection of craft beers.

In addition to its wines and artisan menu, SPIN! is recognized for its convenient service model. Guests place their orders at a counter in the restaurant’s ordering lobby and then relax at their tables where servers deliver their food and beverages. This lets guests control their time whether they’re in a hurry or in the mood to leisurely hang out.
