Popular Eco-Friendly Pizzeria Expands to Three Locations, Serving Genuine Italian Pizzas in Its Signature Modern-Italian-Meets-Urban-California Style
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 30, 2016) – HOT ITALIAN Pizza Bar, a genuine Italian pizzeria popular for its high-quality food, environmental consciousness and modern-Italian-meets-urban-California sensibility, is pleased to announce the PRIMA FESTA Grand Opening party on Saturday, April 2 of its newest location at 500 1st Street in Davis. The Davis opening marks HOT ITALIAN’s third opening in just seven years following the launch of its flagship location in Midtown Sacramento in February 2009 and the opening of its Public Market Emeryville pizza bar in March 2012.
HOT ITALIAN’s Davis location is a 1,500-square-foot casual dining concept where the UC Davis community can enjoy slow food executed fast. Guests order at the counter from a streamlined menu of pizza, salads, beer and wine and are welcome to take their orders to go, dine in, or enjoy their meals on the dog-friendly patio.
“As a UC Davis alumna, I am thrilled to bring HOT ITALIAN to the Davis community,” said Andrea Lepore, co-founder and creative director of HOT ITALIAN. “It is our ongoing mission to create a place where pizza brings people together to celebrate Italy’s new generation of art, music, design, sport, food and wine in a welcoming atmosphere. Davis was a natural fit when envisioning our next location. The bike friendly city and connection to the university working on the cutting edge in food, wine, and world class art, music, and design, embody the HOT ITALIAN brand.”
HOT ITALIAN has set new standards on the local culinary landscape, serving pizzas handcrafted by Italian-born, certified maestro pizzaiolo and co-founder Fabrizio Cercatore using sustainable, local ingredients and house-milled premium unbleached organic flour in the dough. Cercatore hails from the Italian Riviera, where he attended the prominent Italian professional culinary school IPAS and owned and operated a highly-successful restaurant for 14 years. He is one of only a handful of pizzaioli to earn the highest mark of 1,000 points in competition.
HOT ITALIAN’s commitment to quality, integrity and consistency is evidenced both in its exceptional culinary standards and in its eco-friendly design and restaurant practices. The Davis location has already been awarded the Gold Green Business Certification by the city’s Partners for a Greener Davis program for its efforts in reducing waste, recycling, conserving water and energy, and preventing pollution through sustainable business practices. HOT ITALIAN is also part of Davis’ solid waste and recycling program, which works to reduce the amount of refuse ending up in landfills. In 2009, HOT ITALIAN’s Sacramento location was named the first LEED-certified retail establishment in that city by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Located at 500 1st Street, Suite 9 in Davis, HOT ITALIAN is open Sunday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m, with weekend brunch every Sat and Sun 11:30am-3:30pm. For more information, please visit HotItalian.pizza.
