COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Pizza Cucinova, Columbus’ newest artisan pizza restaurant is celebrating its second location with Free Pizza Day Wednesday April 9. At the new location only, 1187 Olentangy River Rd. (3rd & Olentangy), Pizza Cucinova artisans will be crafting free pizzas from 11 am to 10 pm for all those who show they “like” Pizza Cucinova on Facebook.
Pizza Cucinova’s Neapolitan pizzas are made using the time-honored traditions of Naples. Guests line up at an artisan work station to create their own masterpiece or choose from a chef-created specialty. Each artisan pizza starts with hand stretched dough, made from scratch every day with double zero flour that’s imported from Italy. The flour is milled extra fine to make a light and airy pizza. Pizza Cucinova features more than 40 gourmet toppings including Italian imported prosciutto and soppressata, fresh cow’s milk mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, and oven fired veggies. Artisans craft each pizza then fire it in a Wood Stone oven at temperatures of up to 700 degrees in less than 180 seconds. The restaurant also serves artfully crafted salads, craft beer, wine and house-made cheesecake, baked fresh every morning.
“We believe the pizza category is going through a renaissance period. Consumers know what great pizza tastes like but they haven’t been able to get it for a price they want to pay or quick enough to have it for lunch,” said David Karam, chief executive officer of Sbarro LLC, parent company of Pizza Cucinova. “We’ve created this restaurant so that consumers can have great traditional Neapolitan pizzas with gourmet toppings, but we fire it at extremely high temperatures, so they can now get it much faster – speed that makes it acceptable for lunch and now also starting at just $7.”
To receive a free pizza, guests are asked to present their smartphone or a printout at the register to show they’ve liked Pizza Cucinova on Facebook. Free pizzas will be fired during hours of operation from 11 am to 10 pm. Valid only April 9, 2014.
