Pizza Operators Say “Thanks for Loving Pizza” with Pizza Party Donations
Washington, D.C., May 14, 2015 – Some pizzerias are joining in the celebration to honor National Pizza Party Day tomorrow, May 15th, by donating pizzas to local charitable causes. Knowing that a slice of pizza can brighten anyone’s day, several members of The American Pizza Community (APC) wanted to salute the commemorative holiday by sharing slices of pizza with their local communities and causes close to their heart.
“Pizza store operators frequently give back to local charities because so many of the 75,000 pizzerias around the country are owned by someone who lives in the community,” said Lynn Liddle, Chair of the APC. Domino’s Pizza donated pizzas to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. “We were thrilled to make the kids happy with pizza!” added Liddle. According to the pizza industry, pizza ranks as the top meal choice among kids year after year.
Hungry Howie’s donated pizzas to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for their MS Walk in Wyandotte, Michigan. “We were honored to celebrate the efforts of the MS Society and those who walked in the event,” said Jeff Rinke, Vice President of Marketing for Hungry Howie’s Pizza.
