Slice Fest

By Denise Greer

Slice Pizza & Brewhouse owners Jason, Chris and Jeff Bajalieh launched Slice Fest as a first anniversary celebration to thank the Birmingham community for its support. “It turned into a monster of its own,” Jason says.

The Bajaliehs worked with the city to shut down the street in front of the pizzeria, making Slice Fest 2015 truly a block-party event. “I think the city realizes that it’s not just ‘hey can we close the street down to have a party,’” Jason says. “It’s got really good causes.”

The event raised more than $18,000 last year for various Birmingham organizations. A highlight for the Bajalieh brothers was granting a little girl’s wish on stage at Slice Fest through Make-A-Wish Foundation.
