Chuck E. Cheese changes pizza recipe
Irving, Texas-based CEC Entertainment, Inc. has announced the biggest change to its Chuck E. Cheese pizza recipe in its history.
"This is a really exciting time for Chuck E. Cheese's — it's so great that our guests are enjoying our new pizza recipe, telling us how much they like it and sharing this memory with their families," says Brenda Holloway, marketing manager at Chuck E. Cheese. "While we've always provided an environment 'Where a Kid Can Be a Kid,' our new policies now help us deliver the type of consistent pizza product that's expected from the leader in family entertainment."
The new pizza features fresh, never-frozen dough, a crispier crust, fresh vegetables and 100-percent natural mozzarella cheese, freshly-grated in-house daily. Cheese E. Cheese formulated the new recipe to accommodate the changing tastes of parents and children and replaced the former blend of frozen cheeses with freshly-grated 100-percent mozzarella.
CEC Entertainment operates 554 company- and franchise-owned Chuck E. Cheese locations in 48 states and seven foreign countries or territories.

Garage Bar to open in Louisville, Kentucky
21c Museum Hotel, a top national boutique hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, and Chef Michael Paley of 21c's Proof on Main restaurant, announce the opening of Garage Bar tonight in a building formerly occupied by an auto service garage in downtown Louisville's East Market neighborhood.
Artisan pizza is at the center of its menu. A list of eight pizzas will change regularly and are cooked in an 850 F wood-fired brick oven that was built in Naples, Italy. Currently, the menu will feature a white pizza with ricotta, pecorino, taleggio, sea salt and charred spinach; country ham with milled tomatoes; mozzarella, basil, parmigiano; and sweet corn with roasted garlic, basil, cream and bacon.
"In Italy, pizza is about regionality," says Chef Michael Paley. "The crust, toppings and shape of the pizza are dependent on whether you are in Rome or Naples. The Southern specialties that we serve at Garage Bar are a reflection of our own regionality. Making pizza is an art and I love that aspect, but I also wanted to highlight the people and products of Kentucky and the surrounding states that have a lot of passion for what they do.
The menu highlights local and regional country hams, as well as fresh shucked oysters, Pimento cheese, homemade pickles and a parsley salad with pancetta, buttermilk, lemon and parmigiano. Pizzas range from $11 to $17, while entrees are priced from $16 to $19. Garage Bar also serves an array of draft and bottled craft beers, Kentucky bourbon, wines and seasonal cocktails.

The salad features a mix of baby red and green oak, baby lola rosa, baby romaine and baby red romaine lettuces topped with creamy goat cheese, candied walnuts and fresh strawberries, tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette. The salad is served with a Parmesan flatbread stick.
"The strawberry and goat cheese salad is an opportunity for us to offer our customers a refreshing new salad that takes full advantage of a wonderful seasonal fruit that defines the fun taste of summer," says Phoenix store co-owner Mark Weeter.
Avocado and chicken can be added to the salad for protein. A variety of salads joins a menu of affordable, healthy artisan pizzas, rustics, pastas, calzones and sandwiches.
Founded in 1986 in Laguna Beach, California, pizza has more than 95 locations, with another 400 in development worldwide.
