I’ve got some exciting news to share with you regarding next year’s International Pizza Expo, March 23–26, 2015 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. I’m pleased to announce we’ve lined up two great keynote speakers who are sure to jump-start your day. Next year our featured keynote speakers will be Jason Dorsey, the go-to Gen Y Guy and chief strategy officer at The Center for Generational Kinetics, and Marc Malnati, a second-generation co-owner of Chicagoland’s legendary deep-dish pizzeria chain, Lou Malnati’s. Jason Dorsey is a truly compelling speaker who wrote his first best-selling book at the ripe old age of 18. He’s been on a never-ending adventure ever since. Jason has been featured on nationally acclaimed TV shows, such as 60 Minutes, 20/20 and The Today Show, just to name a few. His most recent books are Y-Size Your Business and My Reality Check Bounced! However, Jason’s real gift is solving tough generational challenges for companies large and small — from a locally owned small independent pizzeria to an automotive giant like Mercedes-Benz. He is the go-to guy on Millennials. He delivers the critical human element of emerging data trends so you are ahead of the information curve. In 1978, Lou Malnati, the patriarch and namesake of the Chicago-based pizza chain that bears his name, met with an untimely death when he fell victim to cancer. Lou’s oldest son Marc was just graduating from college and joined his mother in the family business. A few years later Marc’s younger brother Rick finished his college basketball career and joined the business as well. Who could have predicted the phenomenal growth that they’ve enjoyed since they opened their first of more than 40 pizzerias in Lincolnwood, Illinois back in 1971? Even in the face of today’s ever-changing trends and tastes, Lou Malnati’s pizzerias have stayed true to their original Chicago-style deep-dish roots by using the same pizza recipe that Grandpa Malnati helped create back in 1943. Much of their continued success is owed to their commitment to keeping it in the family and using only the freshest and finest ingredients in everything they make.
