Traveling the country, the Pizza Today crew has seen almost everything. Some of the pizza toppings making the weird list are not so strange, after all. Pastrami has made the toppings list around the country. Potatoes, even when combined with mayo, make for a hearty cold-weather pizza. Peas have their place on a veggie pizza, especially with a primavera sauce. Plenty of pizzerias menu fish on pizza (but four varieties on the same pie comes with a hefty food cost). Kangaroo and reindeer have hit the radar in the States as game meat options. And international flavors, such as Indian or Thai, serve as inspiration for many operators’ regular and specials menus.
