Congratulations to Brian Weavel, owner of Anna’s Pizza & Pasta in Winnebago, IL. Brian has been selected to be Pizza Today‘s guest editor-in-chief for our September 2014 issue.
Brian will fly to Louisville next month to oversee the production of the September issue of Pizza Today. He will choose stories, select September’s cover, serve as out our food stylist in the Pizza Today test kitchen, pen the editor’s column on page 3 of the September issue, oversee our September issue photo shoot, select magazine photography and host Pizza Today videos. It’s a big job … but we are confident Brian will rock it out!
In Brian’s guest editor submission, he wrote: “I have worked in the pizza industry for more than 25 years. I should be the guest editor because I represent the thousands of small “mom-and-pop” shops throughout the country. So many of the small shops are overshadowed by the big chains and feel they don’t have a voice. I am very active in our small community and I bring that voice. I live and breathe our small community with extreme pride. I have represented Winnebago as its ‘Citizen of the Year’ and as its ‘Business of the Year.'”
