Much of the news at both the local and national level is centered on Winter Storm Cleon, which is impacting everything from travel and mail service to road department teams and, yes, even pizza delivery drivers.
Winter weather invites customers to stay indoors, and that may increase your phones ringing. Still, it’s imperative that your drivers take precautions while out on the road. Consider:
• Limiting your operations to carryout only during storms. Let your customers know whey they call that your drivers aren’t running that day.
• Offer a snow special.
• Hit a big box bulk store like Sam’s or Costco for large boxes of powdered hot chocolate. Have your drivers hand them out with their pizza. A little generosity goes a long way.
• Be honest about your wait times. If it is going to be an hour, let the customers know when they order.
How are you handling the inclement weather? Are you operating as normal or keeping your drivers off the road?
