National Pizza Chain Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month Through Fundraising and Social Media Efforts
MADISON HEIGHTS, MI (September 28, 2015) – Hungry Howie’s, the originator of flavored crust pizza, continues in its steadfast commitment to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its seventh annual “Love, Hope & Pizza” campaign. Since 2009, Hungry Howie’s has been dedicated to spreading awareness and raising funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.® (NBCF). Throughout the month of October, the brand will serve pizza in pink boxes embellished with NBCF’s logo. For every pizza sold, Hungry Howie’s donates a portion of the proceeds to NBCF. Along with all pizzas, a portion of each chocolate Howie Brownie™ sale, decorated with a pink raspberry sauce, will go to NBCF.
During this special month, Hungry Howie’s customers will share personal stories of their experiences with breast cancer, as well as their stories of love, hope and inspiration via Facebook with Hungry Howie’s followers. Fans are encouraged to share these stories of strength through Facebook. Those who ‘share’ a story on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the third week of October will receive a coupon code for a free, small cheese pizza. Additionally, throughout the entire month of October, any customer who donates ten dollars to NBCF using a link on www.hungryhowies.com will be sent a certificate for a free, large, one topping pizza (valid at participating stores, excludes Alabama and Florida). Pink bracelets and Love, Hope & Pizza t-shirts are also available for purchase, with all proceeds donated to NBCF.
“We are thrilled to embark on our seventh year of raising support and funds for the immensely important cause of breast cancer awareness. Each year our team looks forward to putting all the effort and work we can in to the Love, Hope & Pizza campaign, because we truly believe in what we are doing—striving to save lives and put an end to breast cancer for good,” said Rob Elliott, Executive Vice President of Marketing at Hungry Howie’s Pizza. “This campaign has become integral to the Hungry Howie’s brand. We are proud to have raised over $1.5 million for NBCF thus far and are overjoyed to continue to serve up pizza with the purpose of changing lives and spreading hope.”

Their social media campaign has touched the hearts of breast cancer fighters and survivors and continues to empower those who are currently or have been affected by breast cancer each day,” says Janelle Hail, Co-Founder and CEO of NBCF. “Thanks to Hungry Howie’s Pizza’s outstanding fundraising, tens of thousands of women in the United States have been able to access free early detection services, saving innumerable precious lives.
