PHOENIX (July 17, 2014) – NYPD Pizza announced that its newest location on Mill Avenue in the heart of downtown Tempe will open on Mon., July 28. To celebrate, NYPD Pizza will be providing complimentary parking on July 28 (all day) for all 75 parking meters along Mill Avenue, between E. University Drive and E. Rio Salado Parkway. Mayor Mark Mitchell and NYPD Pizza CEO Rich Stark will host a “Garlic Knot-Cutting Ceremony” on July 28 at 9:00am as part of the community grand opening festivities.
“We welcome NYPD Pizza to the Mill Avenue District,” said Tempe Mayor Mark Mitchell. “They are going to be a great addition and I’m excited to have yet another quality eatery in this community.”
Stark adds, “Mill Avenue is a dining and entertainment mecca; we are happy to be part of the energy and connectivity of downtown Tempe. We look forward to serving neighbors, visitors, business professionals and students alike, made-from-scratch pizzas, salads and pastas for years to come.”
In addition to its traditional menu, this NYPD Pizza – located on the Northwest corner of 3rd Street and Mill Avenue in Tempe – will offer a breakfast menu to meet the demands of the surrounding business and student communities. Situated directly in front of the Mill Avenue/3rd Street Light Rail Stop, NYPD Pizza’s Mill Avenue restaurant is less than one mile away from Arizona State University (ASU), which has a student population of more than 75,000. The area is also a major corporate hub with approx. 140,000 employees within a 3-mile radius from companies like US Airways, Honeywell and Chase Bank. Attractions nearby include ASU Gammage, Tempe Center for the Arts, and over 100 events held annually at Tempe Town Lake and the 25-acre Tempe Beach Park.
Highlights of NYPD Pizza’s menu, in addition to its most popular Brooklyn Family, include the VeganizzaTM, gluten-free food options with a dedicated GF oven, and the restaurant’s top selling craft brew, NYPD Uptown Amber AleTM, locally crafted by Phoenix Ale Brewery.
