Quick-Fired Pizza Restaurant Blast 825 donates $1,300 to the Placer SPCA
FRESNO, Calif. (Nov. 20, 2014) — Blast 825°, a quick-fired pizza restaurant, announced today the winner of its “People’s Choice” award from the brand’s recent Roseville grand opening event. The Placer SPCA, one of four local charities that participated in Roseville Blast 825°’s charity build contest, “crustomized” the winning signature pizza for National Pizza Month. The “Sophisticat,” featuring white sauce, Blast 825°’s cheese blend, roasted mushrooms, roasted onion and arugula, sold over 115 pizzas and raised over $650 from Sept. 24 through Oct. 2, which Blast 825° matched to donate a total of $1,300 to the Placer SPCA.
“We are thrilled that Blast 825° customers enjoyed our signature creation,” said Leilani Fratis, Chief Executive Officer of the Placer SPCA. “We participate in multiple fundraisers throughout the year, but this one had a unique twist – we had the freedom to create the pizza ourselves, which was fun for our team. This generous donation will help us continue to provide our outstanding services to people and exceptional care for the homeless and abandoned companion animals here in Placer County.”
Roseville Blast 825° worked with four local charities that each crafted a signature, custom pizza at its grand opening VIP Pizza Party. Representatives from Albie Aware, Placer SPCA, Blue Line Arts and Placer Food Bank each “crustomized” a pizza work of art that best represented the taste of their organization, choosing from over 40 toppings, four sauces and three hand-stretched doughs. The “Sophisticat” was honored on Oct. 2 at Roseville Blast 825°’s VIP Party and was featured at the restaurant throughout October for National Pizza Month. Additionally, Roseville Blast 825° donated 30 percent of the winning creation’s proceeds from October to Placer SPCA.
“We are happy to offer the Placer SPCA our support through this fun, creative, hands on contest,” said John Ferdinandi, CEO of Milano Restaurants, parent company of Blast 825°. “Our customers rely on Blast 825° for quick fired, unique and delicious menu options. We are proud to say also that local, non-profit organizations can also rely on us. You’ll be seeing more community involvement like this as we expand the exciting Blast 825° brand in California, Nevada, Arizona and Texas through our franchising model.”
For 40 years, the Placer SPCA has reunited lost pets with their owners, enabled struggling families and individuals to keep their pets when times are tough, and matched homeless pets with those searching for a companion. Today, the Placer SPCA is the largest and most comprehensive animal welfare provider in Placer County. As a critically needed not-for-profit organization, the Placer SPCA shelters approximately 4,000 homeless animals annually, including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, and other pets between their three locations: the Placer Companion Animal Center in Roseville, the Pet Adoption and Resource Center in Auburn and the Pet Food Express Cat Adoption Center at Fountains in Roseville.
Roseville Blast 825° Pizza serves guests from Monday – Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday – Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. For more information, please call the restaurant at 916-773-0880, or visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Blast825.
