The National Restaurant Association says 71 percent of adults are more likely to visit a restaurant that offers locally produced items.

66 percent of adults say they are more likely to visit restaurants that offer customer loyalty/reward programs, according to the NRA.

The average pizzeria generates roughly $662,000 in gross sales..

Indiana has 1,987 pizzerias.

Jay Jerrier at Cane Rosso in Dallas opened Zoli’s this summer, serving up a menu very different from Cane Rosso’s Neapolitan style with the tagline, “If you hate Cane Rosso, you’ll love Zoli’s.” The pizzeria serves New York-style pizza, as well as Grandma and Sicilian styles. A display case lines one wall and is filled with traditional pies and featured slices like Corner Grandma with Hot Soppressata and Chicken Francaise Grandma. Besides garlic knots, its starters menu features zucchini fries served with marinara and house-made jalapeño ranch ($8).

Reaching fame through a local rap song, which praised proprietor Joe Beddia as the “Pizza Jesus,” Pizzeria Beddia goes to great lengths to produce handcrafted pizza, reminiscent of legendary New York pizza landmarks. The traditional pie comes with tomato, mozzarella, old gold-aged cheese and olive oil ($18). From there, added toppings include cremini mushroom, salame, roasted onion, pickled chiles, baby arugula and sausage. For a spicy kick, there’s the Pizza Arrabbiata ($20) that everyone just calls “angry.” Beddia is not for everyone. It serves up one size — 16-inches –– has limed seating, long waits, no phone and is cash only. It seems that Philly pizza fans don’t seem to mind, though, as it has garnered a plethora of local attention.

This two-location pizzeria serves up thin-crust, brick oven-style pizza with an assortment of organic ingredients. The D Bacon Pie is a crowd-pleaser with diced apple wood bacon, crumbled feta cheese, green olives, mozzarella and tomato sauce (a 16-inch runs $17.19). Another meat-lovers’ favorite is the Sirloin Pie with ground lean sirloin beef, Pieducks’ original seasoning, tomato sauce, mozzarella and Grated Pecorino Romano cheese (a 16-inch costs $21.79). Pieducks has received rave reviews for its house-made dressings like the Mango Vinaigrette with mango pulp, olive oil, salt, pepper and oregano and the Nero with balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, olive oil, salt, pepper, lemon and oregano.
