Red Wagon combines modern American pizza and seasonal cast-iron creations in its wood-fired oven with a beer and wine focus. Beverage pairings appear right on its menu. The bar list includes 36 beers on tap and 30 wines by the glass. The pizza menu is made up of 10 creative pies. The Lucy! ($17) is a twist on the classic Cuban sandwich with Dijon mustard, Cuban pulled pork, ham and provolone and finished with house-made pickles and dijonaise. A modern take on the popular Vietnamese sandwich, the Bahn Mi ($18) starts with an olive oil base dusted with a grated cheese blend, sweet soy glazed pulled pork then baked and finished with cilantro, julienned cucumber, ginger pickled carrots, pickled radishes, jalapeños and Sriracha aioli.

This pizzeria strives to save the planet one pizza at a time with socially responsible initiatives, including using electric delivery vehicles, power generated from wind, biodegradable packaging and charitable donations. Delivery drivers don superhero costumes of their own making, like “Captain Awesome” and “Supper Man.” Most specialty pizzas include pricing for regular, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. The CSA Pizza changes depending on season and features locally grown produce. Recently the CSA Pizza was topped with Bianca sauce, mozzarella, balsamic roasted zucchini, Italian basil and goat cheese.

Fat Lorenzo’s

It’s hard to miss Fat Lorenzo’s with its exterior covered in a mural by a local artist that pays tribute to Italian tomato fields. The two-unit pizzeria has caught the eye of the regional and national spotlight for its pizza and gelato. Fat Lorenzo’s has created 100+ gelato flavors (including Jamaican rum, coconut and vanilla bean) and rotates its offerings often. In addition to build-your-own pizza and slices, its combination pizza menu consists of five pies. The Alfrenzo is topped with Alfredo sauce, chicken, artichokes, roasted red peppers, spinach, ricotta, mozzarella and provolone.
