Made-to-order pizza fresh from the oven in three minutes or less
BALTIMORE, MD (September 26, 2014) – Piezzetta opened at Horseshoe Casino Baltimore on August 26, 2014 and has since sold over 12,000 made-to-order personal sized pizzas. Each is crafted on fresh, handmade dough and baked to perfection in just two and a half minutes. Guests are provided with an interactive experience as they watch their pizza maker add their favorite homemade sauce, fresh toppings and after bakes or create one of the chef-inspired pies from the menu.
The concept is the creation of Chris Ilardo of Baltimore-based Mamma Ilardo’s and Chef James Schroeder. Deep Italian heritage and restaurateur family legacies led these operating partners to create this quick service pizza concept that relies heavily on Schroeder’s culinary training and years as a chef in Northern Italy, Washington, DC and Virginia. “We’re sticking to our Italian roots and commitment to fresh, local ingredients while providing guests with their perfect pizza in less time than it takes to get a cup of coffee from your favorite barista,” says Schroeder.
The menu includes a choice of four crust options, including gluten-free and vegan options, and four homemade sauces inspired by old-world recipes. Toppings include 6 cheeses, 7 meats and 12 vegetables, along with a unique offering of 10 after bake items. Seven chef-created pies include the classic Margherita, popular barbeque chicken and meat lover’s varieties, a breakfast pizza with farm fresh eggs and the signature High Roller, topped with fresh pesto, house cheese blend, creamy goat cheese, mushrooms, artichoke hearts and after bakes of balsamic reduction, shaved Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of truffle oil. Guests can also craft their own salad and add beverages and desserts to their meals.
