Chicago’s #1 Stuffed Deep Dish Pizza Teams Up With Midwest’s #1 Leisure Destination as Part of the Pier’s Centennial Vision



CHICAGO, Ill. – April 2, 2015 –Navy Pier and Giordano’s Famous Stuffed Pizza announced today plans for a new full-service location at the Midwest’s leading entertainment destination, to appeal to the nine million tourists and Chicagoans visiting each year. Navy Pier revealed in late 2014 its exciting plans to roll out several new and impressive restaurant partners to elevate its Chicago-focused dining experience, which will now include the city’s number one deep dish stuffed pizza brand, Giordano’s.

“Partnering with such an important and iconic Chicago landmark is the right decision for us as we continue to grow in Chicago and beyond,” said Yorgo Koutsogiorgas, President and CEO of Giordano’s. “We’re looking forward to serving our world famous stuffed pizza and Italian cuisine to all of Navy Pier’s visitors, tourists and residents alike.”

The new Giordano’s at Navy Pier is scheduled to open in late May and will occupy space located on the north side of the Pier’s main entrance. It will include an outdoor patio for “al fresco” dining. The location will offer the same great Giordano’s menu available across the metro area, featuring its beloved stuffed pizza and other Italian favorites.

“As we prepare for our Centennial in 2016, we are proud to be partnering with other leading, iconic Chicago brands to elevate the overall experience for our millions of visitors,” said Marilynn Gardner, President & CEO of Navy Pier. “With the addition of Giordano’s to our new, vibrant food scene, we expect to see a lot of happy guests enjoying our city’s leading deep dish pizza.”

This marks Giordano’s 51st restaurant opening since its first Chicago location opened in 1974. The Navy Pier opening is part of the 40-year-old company’s expansion within the Chicagoland area, as well as other cities in the Midwest, with numerous other openings scheduled throughout 2015 and beyond. Giordano’s also operates a 30-foot food truck that caters events throughout the Windy City and recently opened its first Indiana location which was wildly accepted with customers waiting over three hours, in the Rivers Edge shopping center of Indianapolis to enjoy the world famous number one deep dish pizza.
