You Say Potato, Pie Five Pizza Says ‘Cheddar Bacon Pie-Tato’

By Pizza Today

Trend-setting fast-casual chain pushes the culinary envelope, combining loaded baked potato and pizza into a limited-time sensation

DALLAS, Nov. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Peanut butter and chocolate.
Baseball and apple pie. Brangelina.

Some combinations were meant to be.

But baked potatoes and pizza? That’s just ridiculous!

Or is it???

“A few of us chefs got into another food fight in the kitchen a couple
months ago, and before long, potatoes started flying,” said one, who
asked to remain anonymous (because food fights are discouraged at Pie
Five Pizza). “Next thing you know, a spud lands on a pizza and everyone
froze. Then we all looked at each other and said ‘Hmm…'”

Today, the trend-setting fast-casual pizza chain proudly announced the
debut of its new Cheddar Bacon Pie-tato, a masterful combination of
mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, smoky bacon and oven-roasted red skin
potatoes on a freshly made pan crust, topped with rich sour cream and
fresh chives. It’s a revolutionary creation that just might take its
place among the great duos of our generation.

“For crying out loud, who turns a baked potato into a pizza…with sour
cream and chives and the whole works?” said Christina Coy, Pie Five’s
vice president of marketing. “Fortunately, our chefs did, and the only
thing I can say is, don’t diss it till you taste it. I wasn’t so sure
either, until I tried it myself. I’ll be darned if they didn’t create
something seriously amazing!”

But all good things must come to an end, potato heads. This limited time
offering is available at Pie Five restaurants nationwide only until Dec.
21.

At Pie Five, guests can choose from more than a million combinations of
handcrafted personal pizzas and a variety of specialty pie choices, all
for one affordable price. Add one of our hand-made salads and desserts,
prepared fresh every day, and the entire meal will be ready in less than
five minutes. The rapidly expanding chain is capitalizing on growing
consumer demand for fresh dining options and artisan pizzas in stylish
environments without the wait.
