Scotch Egg Pizza

Recipe type: Pizza
  • 1 pizza dough
  • 6 ounces special sauce (recipe follows)
  • 10 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • 6 ounces sage sausage, cooked
  • 4 ounces Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 hardboiled egg, chopped
  • 1 ounce parsley or sage for garnish

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1 cup Half & Half
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  1. Melt butter in saucepan over medium low heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook for about one minute, whisking constantly until smooth and bubbling.
  3. Add seasonings and then add Half & Half a little at a time while still whisking.
  4. Continue whisking until thickened.
  5. Add more Half & Half until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Whisk in mustard.
  7. Spread sauce over pizza, add mozzarella, cover with cooked sage sausage, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake as usual.
  9. During last minute of baking, add more mozzarella and coarsely chopped hard-boiled eggs. Remove from oven, top with freshly chopped sage or parsley.
