Gorgonzola Sauce for Pasta

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 ½ cups Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • Salt and fresh-ground pepper, to taste
  1. In a large sauté pan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic.
  3. Cook and stir two minutes.
  4. Add basil and whipping cream, then increase heat to medium-high to bring sauce to a simmer.
  5. Add Gorgonzola, stirring and blending until cheese melts into cream.
  6. Add salt and pepper.
